In this work Melosi evaluates the attack on Pearl Harbor and the controversy surrounding it. Melosi looks beyond the rise of the attack itself. In the beginning of the book, Melosi highlights the United States ? growing uncongeniality toward the Japanese. Many Americans, consort to Melosi, believed that the Japanese were associated with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. The proofreader might skepticism why an attack would be such a surprise?
